Lake Maroon, Scenic Rim
Maroon Dam is situated on Burnett Creek and supplies water for irrigation as part of the Logan River supply scheme.
Completed in 1974, Maroon Dam allows irrigation along Burnett Creek and the Logan River for about 130 kilometres downstream. Nearby Mount Maroon is part of the McPherson Range.
The mountain rises to 966m (3,169 ft) above sea level about 12 km west of Rathdowney.
Nearby Teviot Brook is a waterway which rises in the Main Range at Carneys Creek and joins the Logan River at Cedar Grove. It is part of the Clarence Moreton Basin, a sedimentary basin on the easternmost part of the Australian continent.
The catchment experiences strong seasonality with heavy rainfall in summer and a dry winter.
Teviot Brook passes through the small towns of Boonah and Mount Alford.
