Surrounded by the coast on three sides, Wellington Point Reserve is popular for picnics, launching a boat into Moreton Bay, walking to King Island, or just sitting back and relaxing overlooking majestic sunsets over Moreton Bay. King Island (Erobin) is a magnet to visitors. At low tide a sandbar emerges, creating a natural bridge from the mainland to King Island, your very own island paradise. Wellington Point, is a suburb on Moreton Bay, 21 km east of central Brisbane. It was named by the colonial surveyor James Warner, probably as a compliment to the Duke of Wellington. The point is a slender, northwards promontory with picnic facilities and a sailing club at its end. Wellington Point is a beautiful bayside village which boasts a vibrant town centre with regular festivals and twilight markets to enjoy and explore. This residential area also boasts substantial conservation areas and open space.
